The presence or absence of a series of reflecting devices mounted at regular intervals on the side of the road to indicate the horizontal alignment of the roadway not at an intersection. (Intersections generally have lighting and /or well-marked lane indications, but not delineators.) Delineators are oriented to face the driver for each approach.
